Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using API Unit, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use API Unit. Users between 16 and 18 may use the platform with parental supervision, but cannot enter into paid agreements — a parent or legal guardian must manage billing. Accounts are personal and must not be shared.

3. Subscription and Billing

API Unit offers recurring subscription plans billed via Stripe. You authorize automatic charges on the selected payment method. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Monthly plans are not refunded for partial months. Annual plans are non-refundable once a billing period has started.

4. Service Level Agreement (SLA)

API Unit targets 99.9% monthly uptime. Support requests will be answered within 24 hours. No service credits are provided for downtime. The SLA does not cover downtime caused by force majeure, scheduled maintenance, or third-party services outside our control.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use API Unit to:

• Test APIs, endpoints, or systems you do not own or do not have explicit written permission to test.
• Use the load testing feature against APIs or infrastructure you do not own or control. Load tests must only target your own systems or systems for which you have explicit written authorization.
• Send excessive requests intended to harm, overload, or disrupt third-party services.
• Store sensitive personal data (passwords, payment card numbers, government IDs) in test request bodies or configurations beyond what is strictly necessary.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.
• Share account credentials or allow unauthorized third parties to access your account.
• Circumvent account limits, rate limits, or access controls.
• Engage in any illegal activity under applicable law.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination without refund.

6. Data and Logging

Every API request is logged (body, headers, parameters, responses) for 7, 30, 60, or 90 days depending on your plan. Aggregated statistics (latency, success/failure/skipped counts) are stored permanently. Email alerts are sent when a test fails.

7. Customer Data and Processor Role

When your API test requests or responses contain personal data, API Unit acts as a data processor on your behalf. You, as the customer, remain the data controller and are solely responsible for ensuring you have a legal basis under applicable law (including GDPR) for sending that data through the platform.

You are also responsible for any data exposed via shared report links. Shared reports are accessible to anyone with the link — do not share reports that contain sensitive or personal data unless you are authorized to do so.

A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available upon request for customers who require one for compliance purposes. Contact [email protected] to request a DPA.

8. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for your API usage, credentials, and compliance with local laws. Users are responsible for protecting their account password and API keys. Notify API Unit immediately if unauthorized access occurs.

9. Intellectual Property

The API Unit platform, including its code, design, branding, and documentation, is the exclusive property of AUTO MAGIC CAST SRL. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or redistribute any part of the platform without prior written consent. Your data and test configurations remain your property.

10. Termination

You may request account closure at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. AUTO MAGIC CAST SRL may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your request logs, test data, and stored API credentials will be deleted within 30 days. Aggregated anonymous statistics may be retained indefinitely.

11. Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided "as is". AUTO MAGIC CAST SRL is not liable for data loss, downtime, or any damages arising from use of the platform.

12. Changes to Terms

API Unit may update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified via email or by posting updates on the platform.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts in Romania.
